DJ for a day 6-9-11

Have to say, being the guest DJ for the entire shift was a great experience!  Borna was a pro in running the first part of the show with me chiming in. I had free reign in picking the songs to put in play.

I was answering the Razor lines during the call in for Lifefest tickets, 10 lines lit up at the same time, wow!

Razor's console is slick in choosing the music and mixing in with the music flow.   They had to work together with a master timeline that has certain events and commercial breaks every hour.  (It pays the bills!)  Even though their library is vast of cleared songs to play, CDs still had to be used once in a while!   Borna showed me how the basic search controls worked. Then, I was picking songs of my own and putting them in queue, while Borna left to do a commercial in another room.  Then, on the other monitor, checked Razor's Facebook page, text message console, and email for requests. There's still some songs that either didn't fit the station format, not available, or get them all played before Hard Drive XL national feed show.

The toughest part of the whole thing is finding something smart to say between songs without getting messed up!   Shut up and Rock!!

While the songs were playing through, Borna showed me around the building.  There's 6 different radio stations under one roof.(Woodward Radio), complete with Sales and Support staff.

BTW: Razor's CD cabinet is full of good stuff! He let me take each copy!   Also got a bonus Seven Day Sonnet autographed poster!

I can cross DJ off my bucket list! :)

Thanks Razor!!
